The Orchard Grove Primary school community consists of 578 students and would like to build a chook pen to house rescued chooks to produce eggs for the children to learn how to cook in the "Grove" kitchen . The chooks will be part of the environmental area and will help aerate the soil and reduce the insects and fertilise the soil. The children have designed the chook area and will care for the chooks.
The total project cost is $1 000.00
The major costs associated with the project are
Item 1 $350.00 - $395 Fox proofing of the area.
Item 2 $440.00 Materials for the chook pen.
Item 3 $45.00 Chook food & feeding materials.
Item 4 $120.00 Solar chook door.
The $1,000 grant will be used to prepare the area to prevent foxes/predators and build the chook house.
