Multicultural Vegetable Garden

Funded in

This program will involve the clearing, redesigning and rejuvenation of an existing vegetable garden within the school grounds. Students will be involved with the design of the gardens and any subsequent maintenance. The garden will then be used as an outdoor learning space for all students, partly those studying Horticulture through the VCAL. Vegetables from the garden will be used by the whole school community in our garden kitchen. The program aims to expand culinary horizons and life skills.

The total project cost is… $1 000.00

The major costs associated with the project are…
Item 1- Seeds $300
Item 2- Seedlings $200
Item 3- Gardening Materials $350
Item 4- Educational Resources $150

The $1,000 grant will be used to…purchase seedlings for propagation, seeds, gardening materials such as manure, sugar mulch and gardening tool, and most importantly visual educational resources.

Students will run Fundraises such a Sausage Sizzles and Cake Stalls. The Multicultural Garden is an ongoing project. Raised funds will go towards the ongoing up keep of the garden.
