Recycling Water at Kew Primary
Kew Primary is committed to the wise use of water and supporting the community to become more water efficient. We are seeking to have the school's three rainwater tanks plumbed into the school's irrigation system to water the newly established kitchen garden and the surrounding vegetation. The kitchen garden supplies vegetables to the canteen to promote healthy eating for the children and is an important part of the curriculum as students learn about the life cycle of plants.
The total project cost is $3 080.00
The major costs associated with the project are
1:Supply 2 pressure pumps (Vada Type) including fittings and tapware (materials only) $1,540
2:Connect overflows from tank into stormwater drain $495
3:Connect pump and tapware (labour only) $1,045
The $1,000 grant will be used to purchase the pressure pumps, fittings and tapware (materials only).
The remaining $2,080 will be raised from the Trivia Fundraising Event being held at the school in June 2013.
