Building blocks for imaginative play – Ripponlea Kinder, St Kilda East

Ripponlea Kinder is a community run not for profit kinder. The kinder community would love to provide the children with new wooden blocks for Outdoor play. Large block play at a kindergarten level encourages a range of developmental skills. Block play supports children’s gross motor skills, balance and spatial awareness.
Children who have a strong sense of wellbeing develop a range of social skills and dispositions. They become capable learners who are able to manage their physical needs.

The only cost for this project is to fund the purchase of these wooden blocks from a local supplier.

The $1,000 grant will be used

Ripponlea Kindergarten will use the grant money to purchase these large wooden blocks from a supplier in the local community.

How they raise the rest of the funding

The children recently hosted a lemonade stand and garage sale on Election Saturday and made $570 to go towards the project. We are hoping to raise the remaining $139 by holding a lemonade stand in our local park one weekend.
