Bush Kinder, Farm Road Preschool, Cheltenham

Farm Road PreSchool would like to establish a Bush Kinder program for the 44 families and educators who participate in the 4 year old kinder program. This new initiative will see educators and children getting out of the confines of four walls engaging with and being active participants in the community.

Shifting the classroom outdoors will help children connect with nature, building the future generation of advocates and custodians of healthy parks and communities for the benefit of all.

The $1,000 grant will be spent on the purchase of 13 sets of rain jackets and waist pants to ensure children are appropriately dressed for any kind of weather. The kinder will run two sessions every Friday with approximately 22 children each. Therefore, additional funding will be required to purchase additional rain jackets and waist pants to ensure every child can participate.

How they raise the rest of the funding

Farm Road PreSchool has several fundraising activities planned including a Trivia Night, Obstacle- a - thon and Disco party. These activities will raise funds to support the establishment of the bush kinder initiative.
