Chatham Primary Patch to Plate healthy cooking program
Chatham Primary is a proud sustainable and community-oriented school, but our kitchen space lacks a properly functioning oven. A school family has generously donated an oven, but we need funds to install it and purchase cooking equipment. A functioning oven will allow students and staff to participate in a healthy eating and food science cooking program, utilizing the produce we grow in our vegetable patch and eggs from our chooks; which will benefit both students’ minds and bodies.
The major costs associated with the project are
Employment of an electrician to uninstall faulty oven and install donated oven, and make good cabinetry. $850 Purchase of oven trays, slice tin, baking dish and class set of mixing bowls, graters, safety knives. $150 Donated oven. $600
The $1,000 grant will be used
Electrician to install donated oven and equipment to use the oven for cooking and food science learning activities
How they raise the rest of the funding
Donation of equipment and Parents Club fundraising
