Choir Riser for Rising Choir at Milgate Primary School
Milgate’s Choir perform at assemblies, to the local community at Open Nights, to our wider community at Manningham Carols by Candlelight, and connect country wide annually via live streaming Music Count Us In. As our choir increases from 25 to our current enrolment number of 125, our students line several rows deep and unfortunately, not everyone can see over the students in front of them. We need a choir riser so our rising choir can see our Performing Art teacher with her cues and also be seen by the audience.
The major costs associated with the project are
A $4,989.00 light-weight, easy to setup, 4 step durable choir riser that has an integrated backrail with safety crossbar and a compact footprint for less storage space.
The $1,000 grant will be used
The grant will go towards purchasing the $4,989.00 portable choir riser so our students can stand on the 4 steps to see our Performing Arts Conductor, improving the quality of the choir's performance. The audience will be able to see the students better. The wider community will benefit as well, as we will be able to bring it easily with us, enabling us to accept invitations to perform for nursing homes or community centres and events, without having to limit our number of participants.
How they raise the rest of the funding
Our Parents & Friends Association are planning to have a sausage sizzle fundraiser with the Milgate Choir singing to raise funds to cover the rest of the cost
