Developing the imaginations of tomorrow – Kew Toy Library
Kew Toy Library provides a low cost, sustainable option for parents to offer their kids resources suited to their developmental stage & interests.
We would like to purchase new toys for our Imaginative Play section which has become quite bare due to a recent increase in member numbers.
Imaginative play is essential to a child’s development because it fosters creativity, promotes physical development and provides an opportunity for kids to practice & develop language and social skills.
The major costs associated with the project are
The costs include the purchase of 25 new quality toys for our Imaginative Play section, as well as the costs of packaging and displaying each toy. This will help ensure that we have sufficient resources to cater to member demand. The new toys will include cars, boats, helicopters, ambulances, fire stations, horse trailers, zoo safari sets, doll houses, animal farms, construction vehicles, princess castles, rocket ships, planes, police stations, campervans, treehouses, garages and airports.
The $1,000 grant will be used
25 quality educational toys purchased at wholesale prices (eg. Little People ‘Swing and Share Treehouse’, Wow Toys ‘Police Chase Charlie’ and Green Toys ‘Fire Station Play Set’) totalling $950. Cost of packaging and displaying each toy in the library (bags, boxes, tape, contact etc) $50.
