Forget the chalkboards, we’d like new backboards at Watsonia Heights Primary School
The purchase of new backboards, rings and nets with improved safety features for Watsonia Heights Primary School ensures we remain committed to providing opportunities for physical activity which are essential for the health, fitness and general wellbeing of our students, their families and the wider community. At WHPS, our grounds remain open outside of school hours to allow our families, students and families from other schools and our neighbours to utilise our outdoor facilities.
The major costs associated with the project are
The actual purchase of the new backboards, rings and nets (all sold separately) will be the only costs associated with this project. The installation of the items will be completed by a qualified tradesperson from within the Watsonia Heights Primary School family.
The $1,000 grant will be used
WHPS will purchase of the following items from HART sport.• 3 x HART official Basketball backboard (item code: 4-415)• 3 x HART Elite Break-away Basketball Ring (item code: 4-418). This model was specifically chosen as it has a flush mount net attachment system to help prevent hand injuries and fully enclosed fixing points for added strength and security.• 3 x HART Olympia net (item code: 4-157)The total cost of the project is: $1,535.70 If our grant application is successful, the new backboards will be installed by a qualified tradesperson from our WHPS family immediately upon arrival. We will then communicate our new arrivals to our students, families and the wider community through our newsletter, facebook page and internal communication system COMPASS

The balance of the funds required to find this project will be paid for from school fundraising efforts.
