Garden for Well-Being, The Basin Primary School
We wish to create a Garden for Well-being. New tables & seating under enormous oaks near our Science-German classroom have created a popular space in which many of our senior students ‘chill out.’ They have asked to garden here during break time, for relaxation, contemplation & exercise. Raised wicking garden beds would be ideal. These will complement the classroom, providing hands-on opportunities to learn about plant requirements & life cycles, habitat creation and the joy of getting dirty.
The major costs associated with the project are
Three self-watering garden beds, soil, plants and mulch. Tools and expertise will be provided by the school's Sustainability Squad and staff.
The $1,000 grant will be used
