Harvested Water Play for Hunt Community Childcare
Hunt is seeking funding to create a harvested rainwater billabong for children to engage with each other in natural water play. A natural play environment that engages play based learning is hugely beneficial for preschool children. This will benefit the 56 enrolled children, as well as local families that use the centre at weekends.
A recent playground refurbishment provided for the basic structure of the billabong, however there was not sufficient budget to install a water pump.
The major costs associated with the project are
Total Cost $5000 • Hand pump with reservoir $3000 • Watercourse Materials $1100 • Indigenous planting $900
The $1,000 grant will be used
The $1000 will contribute towards purchase of the Hand Pump.
How they raise the rest of the funding
The Hunt Committee recently held a fundraising event, and we will be able to draw on these proceeds to top up cost of the pump and installation works / planting.
