Help us fill our library shelves! Aspendale Primary School
While many schools are closing or shrinking their libraries, Aspendale Primary School is bucking the trend to make our library the living, beating heart of our school. However, we need help to bulk up our non-fiction collection. With this grant, we could purchase books about Australian history and indigenous culture, the environment around us, and other countries. We want book-smart learners who can find support in our library with the questions they are investigating.
The major costs associated with the project are
We want to buy 40 non-fiction books for our library, focusing on: - Australian history, including indigenous culture - Environmental issues - Some sports books (we have virtually none of these) - Other countries We will not purchase any dinosaur or space books as we have a reasonable collection of both of these.
The $1,000 grant will be used
We will purchase 40 non-fiction books, with an average price of $25.
How they raise the rest of the funding
We will be able to pay for the costs associated with covering the books and making them available in the library through our normal funding, as the costs will be quite minimal.We can also maintain our collection of non-fiction books via our normal budget.
