Hospital Helper – Footscray
The ‘Hospital Helper’ is a pack of basic hygiene items for disadvantaged patients who present at Footscray Hospital Emergency and are admitted for a longer stay, and do not have any provisions with them. These patients are typically homeless, in financial difficulty, or without the support of family and friends.
The ‘Hospital Helper’ contains basic hygiene items that the hospital does not supply, as well as some items of comfort like sleep masks or scented hand cream and soap.
The major costs associated with the project are
Purchasing of items, delivery costs, storage solutions, signage to make patients aware the 'Hospital Helper' is available. Costs involved with expanding and offering the 'Hospital Helper' to more hospitals and health care agencies in the area.
The $1,000 grant will be used
Purchasing of items, delivery costs, storage solutions, signage and expansion.
How they raise the rest of the funding
Ask for donations of items from individuals and companies.
