Leader Local Grants is looking to help make your community better by bringing small but important projects to life.
In cycle 9, every local paper will have a grant of $1,000 available for the idea that gets the most votes.
A total of 26 grants will be awarded.

Think of an idea
Do you want to build an organic veggie garden in your street that everyone can use?
What about your community group – does it need materials to help knit blankets or teach skills or just help people enjoy life? Could your school benefit from a breakfast club, new sporting or musical equipment?

Submit your application
To start, download the How it Works Information Booklet and make sure you read our Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions. The How it Works Information Booklet has important tips on how to make the most of your application.
To apply, submit your idea by registering on our website here.
Promote and get votes
If your idea is shortlisted for voting make sure you get people excited and voting for your idea.
Chat to your neighbours, friends and family. Put up flyers in your local shops. Share your idea with everyone you know on Facebook and Twitter. Everyone who registers to vote will get 10 votes for each grant cycle to allocate to one or more projects.
To vote, you will need to register here.
If your idea receives the most votes during the voting period, your idea will be funded! To receive your grant you will need to sign an agreement with us and may need to provide additional information.
