Open Community Area at Our Lady Of The Pines Primary School, Donvale
We currently have an area next to our oval which is encumbered with a non functioning garden. Our goal is to create an open area which will bring our community closer together. We will have a new garden with plants planted by our students and ideally 3 bench seats that members of our community can utilise. The area will allow for better viewing by parents and friends of our oval when used by students for school events, as well as allowing our locals to better view community sporting events.
The major costs associated with the project are
The approximate cost break down is as follows: 3 x bench seats- $600 Plants for our students to plant- $500 Other plants, dirt, and materials- $600 Labour costs to empty and rebuild our garden and sitting area $800
The $1,000 grant will be used
The $1000 grant will be spent on two of the major costs- $600 for the bench seats that our local community can enjoy, and $400 on the plants that our students will be planting. The funding we hope to receive from this grant will only be spent on materials to bring this garden sitting area together, all labour costs will be funded through school fundraising.
How they raise the rest of the funding
We hope to receive $1000 through this grant, the remaining $1500 will be raised through in school fundraising, such as raffles and pop up school lunches.** Please note that the attached photos reflect the area that we hope to take down and rebuild.
