Sensory Toys for Maroondah Toy Library, Ringwood North

We would like to increase our sensory toy collection to support families of children with additional sensory processing needs, including Autism. Sensory toys help children that either seek or avoid sensory input including tactile, auditory or visual sources.

Play is essential to a child’s development and our toy library saves families money and offers learning opportunities such as sharing, volunteering and reducing one’s environmental impact.

The major costs associated with the project are

We would like to purchase 20 new, quality, sensory-friendly toys for children aged 6 months to 8 years across our range of toy categories to help ensure that we have sufficient resources to cater to member demand. The toys will stimulate our member children's senses and help meet their therapy and developmental goals. Sensory-friendly toys are also useful for developing children’s balance and spatial awareness systems.

The $1,000 grant will be used

Purchase of 20 sensory-friendly toys at wholesale prices including Hape Sensory Railway, Touch and Match Tactile Puzzle, Mystery Sensory Balls and Whizzy Dizzy.
