Winston Hills PreSchool Toilet Privacy Doors for Children
Over 100 children attend the Winston Hills PreSchool each year from the local community. There are currently no doors on our toilets and children are expressing a desire for some privacy. We would therefore like to install doors on our toilets. Children who will attend the PreSchool in years to come will also benefit and if we are successful it can be a great way to share the idea with other kinders in the Heidelberg leader community who can potentially benefit from the idea.
The major costs associated with the project are
To supply and install toilet doors to 4 children toilets, of which 2 require structure supports prior to mounting the doors. Price is based on a professional builders quote. Sketchers of the toilet doors have been provided to Council and have been approved, the door designs adhere to national regulations regarding safety for children (it will continue to provide an environment for adequate supervision and protect from harm and hazard by having safety measures such as slow closing doors and a gap between doors) . Its a ready to go project that the builder estimates will take between 1-2 days to complete and can start immediately subject funding and builder availability. Major costs: - Labour - Materials, they being: *Hinges *MDF *Paint *Coating *Posts *Brackets
The $1,000 grant will be used
The grant will go towards materials:Hinges - $240MDF - $320Paint - $150Coating - $200Posts -$60Brackets - $30 (of $60)
How they raise the rest of the funding
The rest of the funding (to cover labour +$30 of materials) will be donated by the professional builder (a member of the kinder community) by donating his time and skills. We plan to tap into our recent fundraising to give him a small thank you gift.If we are successful in receiving the grant we will communicate the source of funds on our newsletter and facebook. This small addition to the kinder will have a big impact on providing a happy, safe and comfortable environment for them.
